In plain terms

  • Some cookies keep the shop working. Your cart, your session, your security. Those we can’t turn off.
  • Everything else runs only if you say yes. Analytics, advertising, preferences.
  • Saying no is exactly as easy as saying yes. Same button, same size, same screen.
  • You can change your choice whenever you like — Manage cookies sits in the footer of every page.
  • Nothing you refuse gets loaded anyway. That’s not a slogan, it’s how the banner is built.

1. Why you’re seeing a cookie choice at all

Cookies are small files a website puts on your device so it can remember things — that you have a pool in your cart, that you’re logged in, that you already made a choice about this banner. Some other technologies do a similar job (pixels, local storage, SDKs); when we say “cookies” on this page, we mean all of them.

We ask because we’re required to, and because we’d ask anyway. Hippool is run by a French company, and European rules on cookies and personal data are the strictest there are — they apply to how we run this site, wherever you’re reading it from. A shop that quietly tracks you and tells you afterwards isn’t one we’d want to buy from either.

2. The four kinds of cookies on this site

1 — Strictly necessary. The shop doesn’t work without them: keeping items in your cart, keeping you signed in, processing your payment securely, spotting fraud, remembering which market and currency you’re browsing in, and remembering the cookie choice you just made. These are always on — switching them off would mean switching the shop off.

2 — Preferences. Small conveniences: remembering a setting so you don’t have to set it twice. Off unless you say yes.

3 — Analytics. How many people visited, which pages they read, where they got stuck, whether the size guide actually helps. We look at this in aggregate to make the site better — never to build a profile of you personally. Off unless you say yes.

4 — Advertising. Cookies and pixels that let us show you a Hippool ad elsewhere, or measure whether an ad worked. Off unless you say yes.

3. The full list

Measured on the shop on 26 August 2026, before and after consent — not written from memory. Every one of these is set by Shopify, which hosts the shop. No advertising cookie is set, and no third-party analytics tool is installed.

The third parties involved, and their own policies: Shopify hosts and runs the shop · Shopify Payments and PayPal come in when you pay. We don’t sell what these cookies tell us, and we don’t hand them to anyone.

4. Changing your choice

Click it and the banner comes back, with your current choices shown. Change whatever you like. Refusing takes exactly one click, the same as accepting — no maze, no “are you sure”, no button hidden in grey.

Withdrawing a consent you gave is as easy as giving it. Nothing stops working if you do — you just stop being measured.

You can also clear cookies in your browser — every browser has a setting for it, usually under Privacy. If you do that, you’ll be asked for your choice again next time you visit, and the shop will forget things like your cart.

5. What this has to do with your personal information

Some of what cookies collect can be linked back to you — an order, an account, a device you use every day. How we handle that, our legal basis for each use, who we share it with, where it goes, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do about it is set out in full in our Privacy Policy.

Short version: we’re a French company, so European data protection law covers what we do with it; we don’t sell it; you can ask us for a copy, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and take it elsewhere — and we answer within a month.

6. If something here doesn’t add up

If you find a cookie on this site that isn’t listed above, or a tracker running before you agreed to it, tell us — contact@hippool.com, and it reaches Steven Robert, who is responsible for data protection here. We’d rather hear it from you than not hear it at all, and we’ll fix it and update this page.

If we don’t deal with it properly, you can complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL — contact details in our Privacy Policy.

7. Changes to this policy

We update this page whenever the list changes — a new app, a new tool, a tool removed. The date at the top tells you when it was last checked.
